Orbit by Sivants — Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2026
Orbit is designed to be local-first. Most of what you do in Orbit never leaves your machine. This policy explains what does.
What stays on your machine
- Your prompt queue (SQLite database)
- Your vault and API keys (encrypted locally)
- Your context files, completion logs, and project data
- Your git history and code
- A requested wipe-on-update transaction may be stored outside the main data directory at
~/.orbit-wipe-update-request.jsonor~/.orbit-wipe-update-transaction.json. It contains a random transaction ID, timestamps, Orbit version numbers, install source, attempt count, and any local failure reason; it contains no prompt, project, vault, or account content. Orbit removes the journal after the verified wipe and its consumed record are durably saved.
None of this is transmitted to Sivants LLC.
What leaves your machine
Waitlist and alpha access
If you signed up via orbitdev.app, your email address is stored in Sivants LLC's database (hosted on Railway/Neon Postgres). It is used only to manage waitlist position and send you access-related emails via Resend. It is not sold or shared with third parties.
Bug reports and feedback
When you submit a report via Orbit's feedback button, it is posted as a GitHub issue to the Orbit repository under your submitted email (optional). GitHub's privacy policy applies.
Apollo AI (built-in chat)
Apollo is powered by Google Gemini (currently Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite). When you send a message to Apollo, the content of that message — including any project context Orbit injects — is transmitted to Google's servers and subject to Google's privacy policy and data retention practices. If you are sensitive about prompt content leaving your machine, you can configure Apollo to use your own API key with a provider of your choice.
Coding agent calls
When Orbit spawns Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, or another agent using your own API keys, those calls go directly to your provider. Sivants LLC is not involved and does not see the content.
Cloudflare Tunnel
If you use Orbit's remote access feature (mobile PWA), traffic routes through Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies. Sivants LLC does not store or log this traffic.
Cookies and tracking
orbitdev.app does not use tracking cookies or analytics. The desktop application does not include telemetry or usage tracking.
Data retention
Waitlist and alpha user emails are retained until you request deletion. To request deletion of your data, email support@sivants.com.
Children
Orbit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
