Also called XD

Adobe's vector-based UI/UX design and prototyping tool, which is currently in maintenance mode with no new active development.

What it is

Adobe XD was built to integrate seamlessly with the Creative Cloud ecosystem (Photoshop, Illustrator) to design websites and apps. However, following Adobe's aborted attempt to acquire Figma, XD was placed into maintenance mode, meaning it receives security updates but no new features.

When you would use it

You generally avoid starting new projects in Adobe XD today, using it only to maintain or export legacy designs to newer platforms.

Common operations

  • Opening and maintaining legacy UI projects built within the Adobe ecosystem.
