Also called External MCP, Connections Gallery

Orbit's Settings area for attaching external MCP servers and selectively enabling their tools for Apollo.

What it is

Connections lets users attach external MCP servers to Orbit so Apollo can call their tools. Each server is connected, discovered, classified, and then explicitly enabled before any tool enters Apollo's binding surface; global and per-project scopes are both supported. The feature also includes developer testing tools, a gallery of curated bundles, and quarantine checks for untrusted tool descriptions.

When you would use it

You use Connections when Orbit needs to call a third-party or local MCP server that is not one of Orbit's built-in integrations.

Common operations

  • Adding an HTTP or local-process MCP server
  • Classifying a discovered tool before enabling it in Apollo
  • Installing a curated GitHub, Stripe, or Gmail bundle from the Gallery
