Exit Sandbox

An emergency escape hatch from Sandbox Mode when it freezes or breaks. Available as a titlebar button, sidebar banner button, and `Ctrl+Shift+X` keyboard shortcut.

What it is

If Sandbox Mode gets stuck (server frozen, repeated crashes, unresponsive), Exit Sandbox kills the server, clears sandbox state, and relaunches Orbit normally. Multiple paths exist (titlebar button, sidebar banner button, keyboard shortcut) so it always works regardless of server state. Auto-exits if sandbox server fails to start 3 times.

When you would use it

You use Exit Sandbox when something has gone wrong and you can't recover within Sandbox Mode normally. The auto-exit handles the worst cases automatically.

  • Recovering from a frozen sandbox session
  • Force-exiting after sandbox crashes
  • Returning to normal mode quickly
