Relay

← All terms · Orbit-internal concepts

A connection between your local Orbit instance and the Sivants relay network. Enables remote access (mobile, other machines) and cross-machine prompt routing.

What it is

When Relay is enabled, you can access Orbit remotely from your phone, a different machine, or anywhere with internet. Relay also enables cross-machine prompt routing — for example, queuing an iOS build from your Windows PC and having it execute on a Mac mini that has Xcode installed. Each machine needs Orbit installed and Relay enabled.

When you would use it

You enable Relay when you need cross-device or cross-machine Orbit access. Solo desktop users can leave it off.

Common operations

  • Accessing Orbit from a phone PWA
  • Routing iOS builds from Windows to a Mac build node
  • Multi-machine team workflows
