What is The Handoff?
A document Orbit generates capturing full project context: status, recent completions, queue, and context files. Drop it into any AI chat for instant continuity.
The Handoff is generated on demand via `orbit_handoff` or from the project menu. Its purpose is continuity across AI sessions — paste it into Claude.ai or any AI interface and the AI immediately has everything it needs. No re-explaining, no catching up. Particularly useful when you start a planning session in one tool and want to continue in another.

When you would use it
You generate a Handoff whenever you want to bring an external AI tool up to speed on your project, or when you want a snapshot of project state for any reason.
