Webhook

What is Webhook?

An HTTP request one system sends to your app when an event happens, such as a payment succeeding.

Instead of repeatedly asking whether payment finished, your checkout receives a payment notification at a URL you provide. Verify the sender using its documented signature check, a cryptographic proof attached to the message. Record the event before responding promptly. Notifications can arrive repeatedly or out of order, so track processed identifiers and do not assume arrival order.

When you would use it

Use it when another system needs to notify your app about a change without your app repeatedly checking.

Common operations

  • Verify the notification signature.
  • Record the event and ignore already processed copies.
