What is Fable?
The frontier-class model in the Claude family, representing the highest tier of intelligence and reasoning capability.
Fable is Anthropic's general-purpose frontier-class model, representing the peak of Claude reasoning capabilities. It is designed to handle the most demanding logic, coding, and multi-step reasoning tasks. While highly capable, it is also computationally intensive and costs more than Opus.
How it relates to Orbit
Orbit’s Model Tiers can route a tier to Fable; the Ludicrous tier exists for frontier models like it and asks for a one-time confirmation first. See Complexity Tiers & Routing for details.
When you would use it
You use Fable when you require the absolute maximum cognitive and reasoning power available, and the complexity of the task justifies the higher cost and latency compared to Opus.
