A step-by-step guide for handling a specific operational situation, such as a service outage, deployment issue, or routine maintenance task.
What it is
A runbook tells someone what to do, in what order, and what success or failure looks like. Good runbooks reduce guesswork during stressful or repetitive operational work.
When you would use it
You use a runbook when a task needs to be done reliably by different people, especially under pressure.
